PREDICTION (EPISODE 3)

I deciphered a few words myself, the ones i didnt know, i wrote them down hoping to give it to my sister's Fiance to translate them for me. I was too eager that i couldnt wait for his visit, i had to go to his house.

PASCAL: He doesnt love you.

VICTORY: Who?

PASCAL: David.

VICTORY: How do you know his name? I never told you about him and i never told you where i copied those words down.

PASCAL: Come closer.

*I went close to him, then he slowly showed me each word and the translation, telling me exactly what Dave and Funmi were talking about in my presence. I felt hurt, i was admist tears when Pascal started rubbing my back. At first, i thought he was just trying to console me, when i knew something was up when his hands changed its direction.*

VICTORY: *Moving a bit away from him* What are you doing?

PASCAL: I guess you havent noticed.

VICTORY: Noticed what?

PASCAL: Dont let little school boys play around with your heart when there is someone who has always loved you with the whole of his heart, someone who is ready to do anything to see you happy, someone that would never hurt you.

VICTORY: Who is that? What are you even saying?

PASCAL: I love you Victory.

VICTORY: *Smiles* This is a test, right? Did MMA put you up to this? You better stop because it aint working. She may be right about DAVID but it aint stopping me from living life.

PASCAL: No one put me up to this Victory. I truly love you.

VICTORY: If you love me, then why did you approach my sister and not me?

PASCAL: It has always been you Victory.

VICTORY: What about my sister? Your wife-to-be.

PASCAL: I dont care about her, i never cared about her, the only reason i came close to her was because of you.

VICTORY: How?

PASCAL: Its improper for the junior to get married before the eldest. I had to date her so i would get close to you. I love you Victory, i've always loved you.

VICTORY: What would you have me do? You'll be my brother-in-law in a few months, my sister's husband, so what can i do?

PASCAL: Date me in secret. We can be together with no one knowing about it. We can have the perfect relationship admist everything going on.

VICTORY: You'll be cheating on my sister with me? Are you seriously hearing yourself right now? I thought you're the perfect guy, the perfect man, how is it that you've never slept with her since the both of you started dating?

PASCAL: Thats because i dont love her, i dont have feelings for her. Its you i want Victory. Please dont push me away or everything i've done would have been a waste.

VICTORY: Then let it be a waste. My sister loves you with everything in her, she trusts you with her life, i wont have you hurt her like this, and i definitely wont be the one you'll be cheating on her with.

PASCAL: Is thats the case, i guess ill just have to cancel the wedding then, because its of no use anymore since my actual aim cant be achieved, which was having you.

VICTORY: Pascal! You wouldnt dare.

PASCAL: Looks like you dont know me afterall.

VICTORY: Are you threathening me?

PASCAL: Whichever way you wanna put it, Blackmail or A Threat, thats up to you, but i meant every single word i just said.

VICTORY: And what makes you think i care if you cancel the wedding or not? what makes you think i care if you decide to dump her?

PASCAL: She's your sister, right? So i think you know the answer to that question.

MMA: Truth is, my life right now is a JOKE. I cant believe any of this is happening to me. Being pregnant for you, engaged to Pascal, in love with... *pause* Whats the best solution you came up with.

AUSTIN: Who are you in love with?

MMA: Please dont tell me you came all the way from your house just to ask me who i am in love with.

AUSTIN: MMA, we both know there is only one solution to this, you just have to abort that baby if your marriage with Pascal is going to work out.

MMA: Ill tell him.

AUSTIN: Tell him what?

MMA: Ill tell him i'm pregnant.

AUSTIN: Are you crazy?

MMA: Do i look crazy to you?

AUSTIN: Nope, but you sure sound crazy.

MMA: Austin, if Pascal loved me enough to respect the fact i cant have sex before marriage, if he loves me enough to accept my wishes just to make me happy, then the fact i'm pregnant for you wont be an obstacle to our marriage.

AUSTIN: He trusted you enough to pretend he doesnt like sex just to make you happy, that trust is history when he finds out you've been denying him sex just to give it to someone else. He loved you enough to accept that he is the only man is your life, that love is faded once he finds out you've been cheating on him all these while...

MMA: Austin, i cant abort this baby, i just cant. Ill just have to tell him than risk my womb and life just to conceal something that may come out one day.

AUSTIN: You're on your own in this MMA. Whatever the comsequence, you'll have to face it alone. But trust me when i tell you its only gonna make things worse.

*Phone Rings ...*

MMA: Yes?

VICTORY: MMA, where are you?

MMA: I'm out with a friend.

VICTORY: Please can i see you?

MMA: Is anything the matter?

VICTORY: Not really. I just wanna see you.

*Phone Disconnects*

MMA: Go ahead and ask. I know you're dying to know who just called me.

AUSTIN: *smiles* Who was that?

MMA: My junior sister. I have to get going now. Hopefully, we would see each other some other time.

AUSTIN: How about our conclusion?

MMA: It remains the same, i'll tell him about the pregnancy and narrate the whole incident to him, starting from the day we met to how things escallated.

AUSTIN: Though i still think thats a bad idea, i guess i have no choice in the matter since your mind is already made up.

MMA: Yea, my mind is already made up.

MIKE: *Smiles* Not really, i'm gradually getting over her.

NONSO: Dont fooling yourself Mike, we both know you still love her, what you feel for her hasnt changed one bit despite the fact she's hurt you in more than 50 ways.

MIKE: I'm serious. I'm gradually getting over her.

NONSO: How? By always showing up whenever she calls? Assisting her even in ways beyond your capabilities when she needs your help? Mike, stop doing this to yourself.

MIKE: Please dont start ...

NONSO: I know how you feel whenever she comes running to you seeking your advice and company, telling you she is dating someone else, telling you they just had sex, telling you she is pregnant for him, telling you she is getting married to someone she doesnt love, telling you she is in love with someone else, i know the pain you always feel within, knowing that you wish she can return to being yours, when you know you can treat her far more better than any guy she would ever meet. Why not just stay away from her and get it over with?

MIKE: *Yelling* Because i cant. *Sobbing* Nonso i cant, i just cant, i love this girl with everything in me, i cant do without her, just her presence makes my day and you have no idea how much it hurts to see her in such pain, and the most painful part is the fact that there is absolutely nothing i can do to take the pain away.

NONSO: Stop dwelling in the past and move on. She was once yours and you lost her, there's no way you're getting her back. Thats the thing about women, there are no second chances, once you blow your first chance, there's no need trying to win her back.

MIKE: Its Difficult.

NONSO: Its never easy. But you just have to try.
