PREDICTION (EPISODE 5)

PA AUSTIN: I know, me of all people should know that God shouldnt be questioned. But sometimes, you're forced to ask him certain questions.

MA AUSTIN: My dear, some people are childless, regardless the number of times they fast and pray to God for the fruit of a womb. You know how long it took us to have AUSTIN, so...

PA AUSTIN: ...so he should get married as soon as possible, he's 20 already, so what are we waiting for? If anything should happen to that boy before he becomes a father, you have me to contend with, i wonder why you're this stubborn, Chief Uzor has offered to give OLUCHI as a wife to AUSTIN, if he should change his mind... *Storms Out Of The Apartment*

AUSTIN: *Just entering the house* Mum, whats wrong with him? What did you do this time?

MA AUSTIN: Still the same marriage issue, he's insisting that you go ahead and marry OLUCHI, Chief Uzor's last daughter.

AUSTIN: And i told him i dont love her, i dont even like her, i even hate her with passion. That girl is too proud.

MA AUSTIN: I know, thats why i'm trying to convince him to think otherwise, but its not working. If you dont love her, then there must be someone you love, there must be someone you have feelings for.

AUSTIN: Uhm... Not Really.

MA AUSTIN: What do you mean not really? The only way you're going to evade any commitment with Oluchi is to present a replacement for her as a wife, thats the only way out of this.

DOCTOR: So so so, where is your husband?

MMA: Oh, he is out of the country.

DOCTOR: Does he know you're pregnant?

MMA: Nope. I want it to be a surprise.

DOCTOR: Whats that his name again?

MMA: Micheal.

DOCTOR: Yea, Micheal. How is he?

MMA: He is Fine sir.

DOCTOR: Alright. Here is your test results.

MMA: Thanks.

DOCTOR: Its a male child.

MMA: Huh?

DOCTOR: A said, Its A MALE CHILD.

MMA: Oh, i see. Thanks. Ill be taking my leave now.

DOCTOR: Alright.

As she left the hospital, she started thinking about her past life with Micheal, the doctor opened up an old wound, she has to let it heal again. A cab was waiting for her at the entrance of the hospital already as she boarded the taxi, she was too busy thinking that she didnt care to ask if the Taxi was waiting for another passenger or why it was waiting at the entrance. She hopped into the Taxi and shut the door, then continued thinking...

MMA: Please Mike, i need to know, this is the first time i've experienced something like this before, i need to know now before its too late.

MIKE: So what do we do? The doctor would certainly suspect something, he would look at your differently if you go in there for a pregnancy test all alone, even if i should go in as your brother.

MMA: Then go with me as my husband.

MMA: Yea, or are you scared of being my husband? Are you ashamed of being the father of my baby?

MIKE: Being the father of your baby would be a dream come True, it would be my wish fulfilled, just that i'm not the actual father of your baby, besides we've never had sex.

MMA: Micheal, for all we know, i may not be really pregnant, it might be a slight glitch or malfunction in my body system since i'm getting off age.

MIKE: Hmm

MMA: Please Mike.

MMA: Right now.

*****The Taxi was now at an average speed, and she was relaxed at the back seat with baby sex confirmation in her hands. She was oblivious of what was really happening around her, all she knows is, she's headed home in a Taxi.
She went on ruminating on the past...

MMA: *Visiting Mike one weekend, as she was about to knock, she overheard Mike and his friends talking, so she decided to wait for a while and know what they were talking about.*

VOICE1: I know Love is blind O, but i dont know being in love also makes you a Fool.

VOICE3: Hey, hold it! I'm not a Fool, Ok? Its still the same MIKE. She hugged me close for the first time since she broke up with me, i heard her laugh, i saw her smile, i saw her happy, ill give anything to go back to that moment.

VOICE2: She's just using you, Trust me, at the end of it all, you'll see she doesnt give a fuck about you.

VOICE1: Accepting the responsibility of someone else? Person wey you never fuck before? Person wey no gree for you, someone else finally had his way and you're willingly happy to accept the consequences?

VOICE3: Truth is, there's nothing you guys can do to change anything. We've done the test and she's pregnant, so all these things you're saying doesnt change anything. Even though she brought herself too low and cheap to let her guy sleep with her without using protection.

VOICE 2: Who is the father of her baby?

VOICE3: I never cared to ask.

VOICE2: Arghhhhh! I feel like killing you right now.

VOICE1: What if she goes around telling people you're the father of her baby and you're forced to marry her?

VOICE3: Ill happilly take her and the baby in as my own flesh and blood. Besides, MMA is not like that. I know her.

MMA: *Fumed by the arguement, she opened the door without knocking. They all paused instantly and stared at her in shock*

FRIEND1: Talk of the DEVIL.

MIKE: Please dont even start.

FRIEND2: We'll be taking our leave now. See you as school tomorrow. *They both walked out of the house leaving MMA and MIKE staring deep into each other's eyes*

MIKE: I...

MMA: You neednt explain anything.

MIKE: How much did you hear?

MMA: Enough to know that you...

MIKE: Dont conclude too fast.

MMA: What!

MIKE: Let me explain.

MMA: You of all people should know that i hate explanations. Why do it in the first place when you know its gonna hurt me.

MIKE: MMA, what exactly did you hear?

MMA: Just forget it. I came here to Thank You for being there for me when i needed you the most. But right now, i regret ever knowing you. *Storms out of the house*

Mike stood there is amazement, he cant seem to find what he said wrong. "What did i say?", he kept asking himself as she left his house.

***Brakes Screech***

MMA: Are we ther....

DRIVER: Get down from the car.

MMA: Where are we?

As she was asking, still terrified, 2 other men came out from nowhere and dragged her out of the cab. She looked around, it was a thick forest, not even a single house was in sight. "How did we get this far?", she wondered as she kept pleading with the thugs to please spare her life. "I'm Pregnant, please have mercy on me and my unborn baby, i'm due to get married next month, please pity my family", but all plea fell on deaf ears as they continued forcing her along the bushpath.
