( Amaka in her room, sitting on her bed, inspecting the letter her Junior brother gave her the previous day... )
AMAKA: ( To herself ) No! Ive seen the effect of words on women. Just like CYNTHIA currently obessesing herself on a guy she hasnt even met personally. Many would say its just a LETTER, what harm can it possibly do? i'd just read it and throw it away. But when you do, the contents keep hunting you afterwards. "i love you", those 3 words holds more power than you give it credit for...

NONSO: Sister, i heard you talking to someone...
AMAKA: Hmm, its just me my dear.
NONSO: Whats the matter this time?
AMAKA: Well, i met the guy that gave you the LOVE LETTER yesterday. Why didnt you tell me we attend the same church...
NONSO: Actually, i was kidding when i told you it was a LOVE LETTER. I didnt really see what was written in there. So have you read it?
AMAKA: No i havent.

AMAKA: Because i already know what would be written in there if it were to be a LOVE LETTER. But i met him yesterday on my way home and he said ....

AMAKA: No i havent and i wont read it. If thats what you wanna ask me, your question is answered. Can i be on my way now?...
STRANGER: Alright. Hope you'd in church on sunday...
AMAKA: ( Surprised ) Church?...
STRANGER: Yea, CHURCH. Sunday Service.
AMAKA: Hmm, which church do you think i go to?...
STRANGER: Are you seriously asking me that? I'm AZUBUIKE, the choir master's son. I see you almost all the time at church, sunday service, evening fellowship, weekend sanitation, name it. You never miss any activity in church...
AMAKA: ( Nonso never told me he comes to church ) Well, i've never seen you in church. I'm not too good with faces. And YES, i would be in church AZU...ZU...B...
STRANGER: Its AZUBUIKE, but you can just call me IKENNA. I think that would be more easy to pronounce...
AMAKA: Alright. See you in church then...

IKENNA: Please dont forget to read my letter. Its very important that you do. For both our sakes...

AMAKA: ( To herself ) Who does he think he is? saying FOR BOTH OUR SAKES. Whoa! Wait! Did he just say the CHOIR MASTER'S SON? He should be well trained, so maybe he... Ah! Just forget it. All guys are the same. RUTHLESS.

NONSO: Seriously? The choir master's son. I always see him in church but i never knew he is related with any staff in the church...
AMAKA: Since he is the CHOIR MASTER'S SON. And you said you arent sure its a LOVE LETTER. Then i guess it isnt a LOVE LETTER then...
NONSO: You know what, give me the letter then, let me read it out for you, if the word "LOVE" is written in there, i'll just skip it cause its obvious youre scared of those words. "I LOVE YOU".
AMAKA: Not scared. I'm just avoiding it.
( A knock is heard on the room's door. NONSO quickly hid the letter in his pocket... )
PAPA AMAKA: Hey guys, what are you doing?...
AMAKA & NONSO: We were just ... ( In Unison )
PAPA AMAKA: Hahaha, you guys are always acting like twins. I'm going for on a TRIP to lagos, so i'm sorry i have to cut your conversation short. Nonso, please accompany your mum and i to the park...
AMAKA: How about me?...
PAPA AMAKA: You stay behind and look over the house till your mum returns ...
AMAKA: I'll really miss you DAD.
PAPA AMAKA: I'll always miss you more DEAR.
( Gives her a tight hug and some pocket money before he went out the room with her junior brother. )

AMAKA: ( To herself ) He wont understand. Its not that i'm scared of those words, i'm just avoiding them. I LOVE YOU. There was a time it was genuine. There was a time that word was held with great esteem. A time when you cant say those words unless you actually mean them from the bottom of your heart. But now, its just being used for selfish needs. Those words are now CORRUPT. Those words... They have the power to give you sleepless nights, the power settle a dispute, the power to calm the heart, the power to change your mood, and the power to make the word a better place if only it can be genuine as it once was. I LOVE YOU! Theres actually more to those words than you THINK. But right now, i'm not prepared to hear them from anyone. Not now, when the time comes, i'l be prepared to see through those words and search through the heart of the person its coming from, to see if it was created by the HEART or just the LIPS.
