AMAKA (EPISODE 20)

THE LITTLE KID just stood there, staring at her mother as she was weeping, rolling all over the floor, people trying to control her. She was just 3 years old, what did she know.... "PLease my dear, take it easy, God has a reason for everything", the first woman said as she tried to take control of the weeping mother...  The kid stood motionless, no one paid attention to her, everyone was focused on her mother who was crying uncontrollably on the dusty soil... Gradually, one drop of tear fell down the kid's eyes, She had no idea why it dropped, maybe because of the way her mother was acting or something else, then another drop followed, next thing, She was silently crying, though she wasnt making a sound or even sniffing... Gently, she felt a hand rest on her shoulder from behind, she looked back to know who it is, it was her elder brother... He tapped her once and then told her... "Lil Sis, its just us two now, Dad gave up the Ghost"... Even though his kid sister didnt understand what he was saying, he went on... "You see that woman over there, she's our mum, shes now our responsibility, our reason for living and unless we make her SMILE and be PROUD OF US, we would be forever in her DEBT"... (SIGHS) "You are now a woman, you have to adapt and learn quickly, for both our sakes"... His kid sister looked up at him and he smiled, pretending everything is FINE...

MAMA AMAKA: (Sitting in the COUCH, Trying to understand what was written in there, "ITS JUST A STORY", she said to herself. "But why would he create a story about a MOURNING mother". Just about then, Amaka and Nonso returned home)

AMAKA, NONSO: Good Evening Mum ...

MAMA AMAKA: Evening Dear. Please come over. I need your insight on an issue. (Hands them a SHEET from the jotter, the last page) A married man is going to die soon, and he wrote that piece to be given to his wife. As you can see in that story, the man has 2 kids, but the son is older than the daughter, whereas in actual fact, the daughter is older than the son. What message do you think he is trying to pass? ...

AMAKA: Uhm, it cant be a mistake. Maybe uhm, How many kids does the couple have? ...

MAMA AMAKA: Just 2 kids, a son and a daughter...

NONSO: Then it means the daughter has an elder brother. Thats the message he's trying to pass across...

MAMA AMAKA: But thats not possible because the wife only gave birth to 2 children, not three, none was lost or adopted in any way ...

AMAKA: What is the age gap between the 2 kids? ...

MAMA AMAKA: The daughter is 20 while the son is 18. So she is 2 years older than the junior brother...

AMAKA: You're talking about us, right? Because you seem to know an awful lot about this mysterious couple ...

MAMA AMAKA: Uhm, Yea. I'm sorry. Wanted to sort it out myself, i dont want to remind you of his demise. An officer brought his jotter this evening when you guys went out, he said he found it in your father's pocket ...

AMAKA: Well, it could be just any story ...

MAMA AMAKA: Your father hardly writes. You hardly see him pick a pen and write, not to say writting a story. He must have a reason for this ..

NONSO: You just said he gave you a jotter, but you're giving us a mini-sheet of paper. What about the other pages? ...

MAMA AMAKA: (She handed it over to them as they all read it together) ...

U claim you love me, right? But you cant accept the fact i'm this way, you expect me to change, to change into the kind of guy you would love to date, but you cant cope with me for the time being... The fact that i always come around even when you do something i dont like makes you take me for granted. So tell me, what is it you really want? I'm not rich, else i swear, you wouldnt lack a thing in life, but what i have right now, is what i'm giving you, my care, my love. I broke many protocols just to please you, i do many things other guys would never do just so you'll see how much i love you. Has there been anything you ask of me which i am capable of that i denied you?... I attended that ceremony just because of you, i dont have the time, i had roles to play as a son, but i forsaked them just to show you how crazy youre driving me... YOU CLAIM YOU LOVE ME...

You witnessed the MARRIAGE, you saw the process, the pastor yelled, "BY THE END OF THIS YEAR, WE SHALL CELEBRATE WITH U IN YOUR WEDDING JUST AS WE ARE CELEBRATING WITH THIS COUPLE," You screamed AMEN! Have you ever pictured the both of us on an altar or are you still waiting for the right man? It may not be this year but i wont be wasting your time if marriage isnt the goal i intend to achieve in this relationship. Or just tell me, U never intend to be with me for the rest of your life, right?...

FUNNY; When girls ignore the LOVE right in from of them and tell you i'm still searching. Searching for what exactly? A guy in an HUMMER JEEP?... Why dont we struggle and buy that car together? Is anything IMPOSSIBLE? ....

U HURT ME IN THE SMALLEST WAY, THE THINGS YOU COUNT AS NOTHING IS WHAT HURTS ME THE MOST, I'M NOT LIKE OTHER GUYS, YOU SAID YOU WANT A DIFFERENT GUY, WELL, HERE I AM, OTHER GUYS MAY OVERLOOK THIS, BUT I CANT, ITS IN MY NATURE. I WISH YOU CAN SEE MY HEART.

MAMA AMAKA: (Weakly sat down on the chair behind her, buried her head in her hands, slowly she started weeping ... ) Yes it is ... (Sniffing) When we were still dating, i invited him to my friend's wedding ceremony, i never expected him to come but she showed up, still i never gave him my attention. He left being ANNOYED and sent me a letter with the exact same content that night.

AMAKA: I thought you said you LOVED our father. I thought you said he meant the world to you.

MAMA AMAKA: I did, i did loved your father, but that was a few years after we got married. We didnt get married out of LOVE, we got married because i was pressured to, but as time went on, i fell genuinely in love with him ...

NONSO: I guess he loved you till death. I guess you were the last thing on his mind right before he gave up the GHOST ...
