9am ... Monday...
TRAIN HORN SOUNDS
Chioma: Jesus! 9am already?
Its Monday morning, Chioma is having
her FINAL YEAR EXAMS by 10am today. She's been up all night reading, getting
herself prepared for this morning and slept off in the process.
Chioma, a fair slim lady, 20 in age,
lives a few miles away from her University. She has her own personal apartment
where she lived alone, always stays indoors reading, hardly kept friends,
though a lot envy and wishes to be close to her, she's partially strict in
keeping company. She's being marked as the most brilliant undergraduate in her
batch. And this made her really Famous, as she was mostly the talk on Campus. A
Campus Celebrity.
She jumped off her bed, stuffing all
the books she's been reading the previous night into her backpack, all in a
MESS, tattered and torn due to stretch and turn overs made by Chioma when in
Dreamland (On Her Books). Rushed into the bathroom, took her bath not minding
the parts she missed as long as her entire body felt COLD, opened the wardrobe
and picked the 1st cloth her hand caught. Wore it on, put on any shoe that
caught her eye, made for the door with a comb in her hand, combing her hair as
she made sure her apartment was secured.
9:32am ... She's in school already,
all thanks to Mike who offered to drop her off on seeing how urgent she was.

1st MAN _: Set her ablaze, she's a
Bitch, she deserves no mercy!!!!!
2nd MAN _: Hang her, Rip her clothes,
and stone her to death, that's the only thing they're good for!!!!!
WOMAN _: ( A woman in her mid-30’s) Kill
her, she's a prostitute, I caught her in bed with my husband, she's sent from
hell to destroy homes, send her back to the devil that sent her!!! ... (Ranting
In Anger)

Chioma who just said BYE to MIKE
turned around to witness this barbaric protest. Numerous angry students
surrounding the accused woman; All holding sticks and stones, ready to inflict
unimaginable pain on her until she gives up the GHOST.
As usual, she ignored the scene and
headed straight to the hall where the exam was to be held. It’s not the first
time something like that is happening, so it isn't NEW.
A few miles away from the scene, she
heard a faint voice, "SOMEONE'S FUTURE LIE IN MY HANDS, P-L-E-A-S-E SPARE
MY LIFE"...
Her heart sank deep within her CHEST,
shocked she was, in confusion, she ran back to the scene, fighting her way to
the middle,only to find a WOMAN half naked, covered in wounds and beaten beyond
recognition pleading for her DEAR LIFE.
She ran to the woman lying on the
floor, fighting through the crowd, sat with her, placed the woman’s head on her
laps and screamed at the top of her voice asking and pleading with them to stop
...

Chioma:STOP!!! STOP!!! (Sobbing)
PleaseSTOP, this isn't FAIR, this isn't RIGHT, please let her be...
MAN #1: (Angrily) Do you know her
offense? Who are you to stand up for someone we all condemn, who are you to try
and save someone we find guilty of a crime? ...
MAN #2: Who is she to you? Of what
concern is this issue to you? ...
Holding the WOMAN closes, and away
from the claws of the heartless youths, the woman said to CHIOMA, "I'M
SORRY" with a dying voice...

Chioma was in a state words can't
express. The woman lying on her laps is her biological mother. The woman who
got her to the level she was in school, the woman who brought her into the
world, the woman who made her what she was today. How can she be a WHORE?
She had 2 options.
ONE was to deny her and go on with her
Exams, not caring about what the MOB would do to her. Get her certificate and
move on to a brighter future. Trying to forget she ever had a mum.
OR
TWO _ Accept she's her mom, and lose
everything she ever worked for. When the story gets published in the papers
that the most famous student in the whole school has a Slut for a mum, which
company would accept to Employ her. When the whole school believed her mum
would be a respectable person in the society due to her personality, what then
would happen to her world. Take responsibility and await whatever life brings
next.
